There are plenty of people and companies that will try and sell you a crazy ‘lose weight and get fit fast’ diet plan. Normally, they charge you a lot of money or rope you into a subscription plan. If you took all of the expensive diets out there and put them side by side, I bet you’d hardly see a difference, but what if I told you that there is one diet trick you wish you’d known sooner.
The thing is, dieting is actually really simple. In fact, there’s often only one main rule to follow when it comes to eating well and losing body fat. All you really have to be aware of is your calorie intake. More specifically, consume fewer calories than you burn during the day. This is the one diet trick every expensive nutritionist will tell you about. By doing this, you create a caloric deficit, which leads to fat loss.
But, how can you reduce your calorie intake every day? Here are a few ideas to help you out:
Stay Away From Alcohol
One easy way you can reduce the amount of calories you take in is to stay away from alcohol. Did you know that there are loads of calories in many alcoholic beverages? It’s true, you can have a couple of drinks and consume over 400 calories all in one go! If you’re serious about getting into shape, then maybe you should consider quitting drinking? It’s an easy way to ensure you don’t consume extra calories for no reason.
Start A Food Diary
A food diary is such a brilliant way to influence your calorie intake. This is simply a diary where you note down all the food you’ve eaten, and include how many calories are in each meal. It will show you how much you’re eating, and get you to consciously change your eating habits to reduce those numbers. Plus, by having everything written down, you can track what you eat and ensure you never go overboard.
Avoid Empty Calories
Empty calories are the worst calories as they have no nutritional benefit to them. Let’s be real, you’re always going to consume some calories in a day. Otherwise, you’ll be starving yourself. The trick is to ensure that you eat calories that benefit your body. For example, eating a healthy meal that includes chicken and sweet potatoes as you get a lot of protein, iron, and fiber. This is much better than eating a cookie or something else with the same amount of calories but with no nutritional benefits. You’ll be amazed how many empty calories you consume each day that doesn’t help you in any way shape or form. You’re better off not eating them, and only consuming the calories, you really need. This will help you stop adding extra calories to your diet when you don’t need them.
To finish, there is really no secret diet that will help you lose fat and get in shape. All there is is this one trick that will get you eating a lot better. Reduce your calories, and make sure you burn more than you consume.
