Let’s be honest here. Heading to the gym each day to use the same machines can be quite boring. You might jump on the treadmill, use the bike. Perhaps lift a few weights, and then you’d be done. You may work up a bit of sweat, but you may not have gotten as much out of your exercise time as you could have. When something is boring, you are less likely to remain motivated to keep it up. But we all know how good regular exercise is for the body and mind. So I thought I would share with you some fun ways to kick start your fitness regime.
Give Yoga a try
Yoga is an excellent way to exercise your whole body. While it doesn’t necessarily provide you with a cardio workout, it’s important to mix up your routines as much as you can. You could even consider hot yoga which helps your muscles become more supple. Yoga also uses an element of mediation throughout as you focus on your breathing. So it’s a great way to relax your mind and destress from a busy day. While still doing something entirely beneficial for your mind and body.
Dance Your Way to Fitness
Who doesn’t love to dance on a night out? So why not use that in your exercise routine. Dancing at home or in a class is an excellent way to increase your heart rate while working your muscles. You may want to consider a Zumba dance class for fitness and workout. It’s such a fun way to exercise learning the dance moves and moving your body in time to the music. It shouldn’t even feel like a workout.
Try HIIT Workouts
HIIT workouts or High-Intensity Interval Training is a great way to get the maximum out of your exercise routine in less time. Perfect for people with busy work schedules or have little time to do things. It’s a great way to work all your muscles at high speed and then rest your body for the interim periods. Thankfully, this is something you can do yourself or in a workout class environment.
Use Youtube and Exercise at Home
Many of us just can’t get to a gym class. It might be down to work schedules or childcare problems. However, this shouldn’t be an excuse not to exercise. With things like Youtube readily available, you can now workout just from a click of a button. Many people upload different levels of workouts to suit everyone. From yoga and Zumba as mentioned before, to straightforward aerobic or HIIT classes. Take advantage of the tools you have available.
Start Walking More
Walking is a great form of exercise and one you can start to do more of almost immediately. Get yourself a pedometer tracker and set a goal of how many steps to take per day. It’s a slow and steady way of increasing your fitness levels.
Swimming Gives You an All Over Body Workout
Finally, why not head to your local swimming pool and swim a few lengths? This exercise is an excellent way to use all your muscles in one go. Plus being in the water can be strangely relaxing.
