Many people also use it to showcase vegan recipes and to spread awareness. There are also more vegan restaurants and cafes being opened to keep up with demand. If you didn’t know, vegans make a conscious decision not to eat, use or wear anything that is made from or tested on animals. There are many compelling reasons why people are transitioning to this way of life. From wanting to live a healthier lifestyle to being more animal-friendly. Here are just a few popular reasons that people are becoming vegan and why you may want to consider it yourself.

The meat industry creates a significant percentage of pollution and is one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gasses. From transporting the meat to packaging it, the pollution it creates is on an enormous scale. This is understandably having an adverse effect on our planet, and the industry also uses an extensive amount of fossil fuels. If more people choose to stop eating meat, less pollution will enter our atmosphere. Even cutting down your meat intake each week can make a significant difference to the condition of the planet.

Many people choose to become vegan in a bid to help animals. They believe that all animals should be respected and treated as our equals and not inferior species. Its rise in popularity has shed light on brands who unnecessarily use animal testing such as MAC and Pantene. It’s also encouraged people to stop wearing leather and other animal by-products from clothing brands. A reduction in people buying meat and dairy products has also closed down factory farms. This means vegans are getting the nutrients their body need, without having to rely on the meat industry to do so.
