Blogging at home is one of the most amazing things you can do. You get to write about lots of different subjects from the comfort of your spare room. However, it isn’t the most healthy thing in the world. You are stuck indoors staring at a screen for hours on end. Therefore, you need to ensure you are doing exercise outside of your writing hours. Here are some other unmissable tips to stay healthy while blogging at home.
Take a Break Every 30 Minutes
Our generation is growing up with terrible eyesight after spending so much time looking at the computer, phone, and tablet screens. It’s making us all need glasses a lot sooner than before. Also, starting at screens for too long is giving us bad headaches. Therefore, to cut some of our screen exposure, it’s important to have some breaks when blogging. Going to the toilet or heading to make a drink lets your eyes and mind have a rest for a few minutes. Or even doing some stretches can help us when we are blogging at home. Therefore, every 30 minutes give yourself a few moments of space away from your screen to stay healthy.
Ensure You Are Drinking Enough Water
It’s so easy to be writing and then wonder when was the last time you had something to drink! But it’s so important to make sure you have at least two pints of water every day. After all, it helps our body to function correctly. Additionally, it will prevent us from having headaches and will ensure we maintain a healthy weight. As you can read about in this article, you can ensure you have enough by drinking when rereading what you just wrote. Or you could even set a timer to remind you to drink!
Get an Adjustable Chair
It’s so easy not to think about your posture when you are leaning over to blog. But you need to make sure you are sitting properly when you write. Otherwise, you will have problems with your neck and back in years to come. The easiest way to help your posture is to make sure you have a secure chair which will help you sit up straight. You should choose an adjustable chair so that you can move it accordingly. Make sure you look online as it’s an essential read to make sure you are getting the right chair!
Stop Snacking at Your Desk
As you are writing, it’s easy to lose track of how much you are eating. It means you might be going over your daily calorie intake after a few snacks. Therefore, make sure you are not overeating while you are writing at your desk. Set aside a couple of snacks before you start blogging, so that you don’t keep wandering to the cupboard. That way, you can limit yourself, so that you don’t end up eating way more than you should! And make sure you are eating a proper lunch so that you are full and don’t need to snack!
