These days, being a mom has become more demanding than ever. Kids have endless extracurricular activities, moms also go to work, and there is immense pressure of being the perfect parent from everyone else. But even though busy moms have little to no time to themselves in between taking care of the kids and maintaining the household, there are many ways to keep up a stunning appearance.
One of those ways is to have the right tools, whether you are a stay-at-home mom or always on the go. That said, here are some of the must-have beauty products that you should always keep in your purse:
#1 Facial cleanser
You might be thinking, “Doesn’t a facial cleanser belong in the bathroom?” Indeed, it does. But you cannot deny that there are days when you rush out of the house without even getting to wash your face. Or sometimes, you forget. It happens to the best of us. But you certainly can’t keep all that dirt and grime on your face all day until you get home.
That said, it is highly advisable to bring a travel-sized container of facial cleansing wash everywhere you go. This way, you have something to wash your face with if you happen to fail to do so before you leave the house because-let’s face it-baby wipes aren’t going to cut it.
Moisturizer is extremely important for women, especially moms, because female skin tends to be more sensitive. Furthermore, women often get dry skin during their period, which can lead to breakouts.
To combat dryness, irritation, and other skin problems, make it a point to moisturize your face regularly. Having a travel-sized moisturizer in your bag can help you keep up this habit, wherever you may be, and it is crucial to moisturize if you’ve been sitting in an airconditioned room all day.
#3 BB cream
BB cream is similar to the foundation but is a little lighter in density. This makeup product is especially useful for moms who generally don’t have time to blend out regular foundation. Furthermore, BB cream provides just enough coverage to make your face look smoother and brighter without the heaviness of regular foundation.
Besides a BB cream, you can use a primer to freshen up your face if you are running late and don’t have time to use foundation (or even a BB cream). By simply rubbing a thin layer of primer on your skin, you can smooth out the appearance of fine lines and fix uneven skin tone, as well as conceal dark spots. It’s also a great product to use on the go when you need to freshen up and don’t have a bathroom to do your makeup.
Everyone should have a tube of sunscreen in their bags, even if it’s not summer. Sunscreen is vital for moms who have young ones to protect from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Always make sure to apply a layer of sunscreen on your skin when going out during the day, even if it is particularly cloudy outside (the weather not being hot or sunny doesn’t mean there aren’t UV rays).
#6 Your go-to foundation
If you need a little more coverage than BB cream or primer, then what you need is the perfect foundation for your skin’s texture, shade, and sensitivity. By now, you probably already have a go-to foundation that has always worked best for your skin. Otherwise, it’s high time to find the perfect product that you can use even while on the go.
#7 Lip gloss
Reapplying your lipstick again and again is a hassle that no mom wants to partake in, especially when you have to take care of your little ones all day. It may look great when you leave the house, but once you eat or drink, it will most likely be gone by the end of the day-and going out with the kids may mean that you don’t have time to retouch it.
A trusty tube of lip gloss is the best alternative if you want something fancier than lip balm. Always keep one in your bag and easily touch up whenever you need to. The best part? If it smudges, no one will be able to notice it unless they look up close.
Being a mom with a busy schedule shouldn’t stop you from looking your best. Although you may not have time for a full face-beat or touch-ups, having these products in your bag is enough to keep you looking young, fresh, and energized throughout the day.
