Running a blog is a challenging feat. You need to be wholly unique, offering something that no one else does, while also keeping your content fresh and inspired. Finding ways to guarantee traffic is quite tough, you need to experiment with what works for you as every blog is different. Here are some different ways in which you can keep your blog fresh with ideas and keep the traffic pouring back in.
Add A New Category
If you see the numbers start to drop then, you can try something different. Add another category, such as travel or health to your blog; and keep it relevant to what you’re trying to do and promote. The new angles can bring in new readers, and offer the existing something new to try out. There are many important topics which can generate additional traffic; it’s just finding the right niche about what fits on your site.
Use A Guest Blogger Facility
To keep perspective and for differing topics, you should offer the service of guest posting; this guest posting resource can help you get started. Allowing others to post on your website means you can benefit from their expertise in the subject they wish to talk about. The different voice in writing will also shine through; meaning your guests will clearly see it has been written by someone else.
Don’t allow for a facility that allows visitors to post directly; because it can damage your blog is a controversial or poorly written post makes it onto your site. Review each post that comes in, but with a kind eye. After all, the individual has decided to donate some of their time to write a post for a blog they clearly care about.
Use Bespoke Photography
The internet is, of course, full of photos. Many of them are quite boring; some are stock photos seen time and time again. It’s hard to source quality photos; but if you’re running a blog that talks about travel or different areas it can be good sometimes to use your photos which in turn proves your authority on the subject as it shows you have been there yourself. Bespoke photos also bring a post to life in ways that bog standard photos simply can. You can brush up on your photography skills here.
Balance Frequency And Quality
Sometimes blogs don’t post anything for months at a time, which is fine if the quality of your content is excellent, yet others post things every few minutes with varying degrees of success and quality. You need to find the right balance between both quality and frequency. No content is going to annoy those loyal to your blog, and a constant stream of poor content will just annoy people.
It can sometimes be hard when you’re having to keep pushing content out; research takes time and ideas can flow more slowly. The guest posts can help, but, depending on your team, if you aim for two quality articles a week that are well researched and founded and written by yourself it should be enough to keep people happy and coming for more.
